30% Regional Materials

The Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla (JRTC) went above and beyond the requirements for regional materials sourced within 500 miles of the project site. The project achieved more than 30% of its materials being sourced regionally. This allowed the project to qualify for Innovation in Design Credits.

 

Green Education

The Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla (JRTC) has achieved LEED Gold certification. Prior to construction, completion tours were made available to educate the community on LEED Construction. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) will continue providing educational tours of the building related to LEED design and construction, as well as the JTA’s other sustainability initiatives. This was used as an Innovation in Design Credit for the project.

 

30% Recycled Content

The Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla (JRTC) was designed and constructed to include a large portion of recycled content. The project included over 30% recycled content, well above the 20% requirement, allowing it to qualify for Innovation in Design credits.

 

Public Transportation Access

The Jacksonville Regional Transportation at LaVilla (JRTC) is the major mobility hub in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida, providing access to regular and express bus routes, the First Coast Flyer BRT network, the Skyway, paratransit, micromobility solutions, regional Express Select services and other mobility solutions. The JRTC facilitates over 10,000 bus trips per day and provides amenities for customers that include: customer service, ticketing, informational kiosks, wayfinding, Wi-Fi, and more.

 

Low Mercury Lamps

Lighting at The Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla(JRTC) was designed to use low mercury lamps for a majority of lighting. This allowed the project to qualify for Innovation in Design credits.
